Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

It is local to me and has a fantastic reputation for the degree I wanted to do.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Newcastle is a wonderful city with loads of culture to enjoy and lots of places to explore. There is something for everyone! I love shopping at the Metocentre, walking along the beach at Tynemouth and heading down the Quayside for a meal and cocktails.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

I have always lived here and think there is a lovely friendly atmosphere to the place.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

The University was great at sending out information and telling you things gradually so it wasn't too overwhelming. My course has a wide mix of people and everyone feels welcome.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Studying a subject which I am passionate about and meeting lots of lovely people.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My peers and certain lecturers.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

The lecturers who know so much!

What is your favourite place on campus?

The ground floor of the library at Coach Lane campus where you can access IT, do group work, have a chat and grab your lunch.

What is the best thing about your course?

Learning about something which I am passionate about.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

That it's never too late to follow your dream - I am 34 and a mother of two!

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I hope to be a competent and caring nurse who makes a difference to people's lives.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

Placements have been great - all with different challenges and highlights.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Go for it!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

Definately increased in confidence in my ability to study and learn and ultimately follow my dream career.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Fun, hard work!

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Yes!
