Fashion Design and Marketing

Where are you from?

Manchester

Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I wanted a reputable fashion course without moving to London as it is very expensive. I also did not want to move to a city alot quieter then Manchester as I would get bored.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I love Newcastle! Theres plenty to do and always people around. The people are crazy.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Northumbria had endless options for events and things to do at Freshers. It was easy to meet people and fit in.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

I have enjoyed discovering a new place and being so close to Scotland. I'd never been before and now its just a short train ride to Edinburgh.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My tutors have been amazing, Anne Marie and Fiona Reaside are avaliable whenever I need them.

What is the best thing about your course?

How hands on it is. Barely any sit down lectures!

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

To meet as many people as you can!

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I want to move to London for my placement year next year. I'll know how to present and introduce myself to new crowds.

Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.

We went on a trip right at the start of the year to the Bowes museum. It was really nice to get off campus and discover the areas surrounding Newcastle so soon.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Do it! You'll have so much fun.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Fun, tiring, mad!

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Yes!
