The Chloe & Liam Together Forever Trust

2027 marks ten years since Northumbria University sport student Liam Curry and his girlfriend Chloe Rutherford lost their lives at the Ariana Grande concert. The Chloe & Liam Together Forever Trust, established by their families, honours them by inspiring young people to follow their performing arts or sporting dreams.

This year, Northumbria University and the Trust are working together to take part in the Big Give Christmas 2026 Challenge, which is the UK’s biggest match-funded campaign. It will raise funds for 'Chloe & Liam Leaders’, a new sport and performing arts programme that will equip local young people facing hardship with qualifications, leadership skills, and the confidence to deliver activities in their own communities.

As part of our application, we are asking supporters of Northumbria to make pledges that will be used as match funds to double online donations made by the public during the campaign, which will take place from 1 December (Giving Tuesday) to 8 December. Your commitment might also help us secure additional match funds via a Champion funder (sourced by the Big Give).

We're aiming to raise £15,200 in pledges through individual or corporate donations of £100 or more. A pledge of £100 from a supporter becomes £200 for the cause: one donation, twice the impact.

A few things worth knowing:

• The form is a pledge promise – pledges are not paid until after the campaign ends.
• Fulfilment is conditional on us hitting our online donation target during the campaign. You'll only pay a pro-rata amount if we don't, so you're only ever matching what the public gives.
• If you pledge, you won't be able to make a separate online donation during the campaign itself, as your pledge will be used to match those donations instead.
