Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

It was the best course on offer and everyone at the open days were lovely.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I love Newcastle and don't think i could have studied anywhere else. I like finding small, alternative places to hang out with my friends such as bars, theatres or galleries.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

I have noticed an increasingly cosmopolitan feel to Newcastle which has developed in the last few years. This relaxed vibe goes hand in hand with the friendliness of the people who live here.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming?  Was it easy to fit in?

Absolutely.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

The high teaching standard. Overall, tutors are knowledgable and helpful.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

In my experience, one of the characteristics of this university is that everyone will help you with any problem you have.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

The faculty expect high standards from their students without being overbearing. This means i felt supported in my efforts but constantly pushed to achieve more.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Habita. I love the relaxed atmosphere.

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? 

I joined the English, Writers and Salsa socs as well as starting the Book Club.  I great way to make friends and build confidence.

What is the best thing about your course?

The interesting modules on offer

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Self- motivation and confidence

What do you want to do in the future?  What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

Lecturing? Something to do with theatre? I dont know yet! The ability to communicate with clarity and confidence is crucial.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement?  What were your most memorable experiences?

I have volounteered for the National Trust. It was lovely to be able to talk to the public.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Throw yourself into it and you won't be disappointed!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I'm unrecognisable. I have developed into an articulate and outgoing person since i started here.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Life-changing, fun, inspiring

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Yes.
