Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I chose Northumbria as it was close to home and it is where I had previously studied for my BSc, I had enjoyed my three years there so much I really wanted to come back to study for my Masters!

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I LOVE Newcastle so much! I'm a typical girl and my favourite thing to do is shop till I drop in either Eldon Square or the Metro Centre. I also love going for a walk and an coffee on the Quayside.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Of course! Both on my BSc and MSc! Everyone has been so friendly and even not living in halls didn't stop me from forming loads of friends and joining in on all the fun!

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

Course tutors have always been so supportive and helpful, but I could of done any of it with out the words of encouragement from my friends!

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

The dissertation and guidance tutor I had in my BSc, even now when I'm on my Masters and on a different campus he door is still always open to me for support and words of wisdom!

What is your favourite place on campus?

My favourite place on coach lane would have to be chilling out on the sofas in the union with a costa hot chocolate!

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

For the duration of my BSc I played for Team Northumbria's Tennis team, where in my final year I was social secretary! So many memorable days especially the adventures on away matches!

What is the best thing about your course?

The best thing about my course, Physiotherapy is the amazing opportunities I get through clinical placements!

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

A Physiotherapist! Every second of learning from my masters will be vital in my new career as a junior physio!

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I've been on 3 placements so far - a musculoskeletal outpatients, intensive care unit and community stroke! I have loved them all but the intensive care unit placement was by far my most enjoyable - I love the buzz of an acute hospital environment.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

DO IT! You will not regret studying at Northumbria!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I've grown so much in my time at Northumbria! Confidence and academic knowledge have to have been my biggest personal achievements.

Meaningful. Enjoyable. Memorable.

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

100% Yes!
