YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

See below some of the questions you might be considering about this move. If you have any further questions, please get in touch.

City Campus brings Physiotherapy together with Sport and Exercise courses, creating opportunities for shared teaching, enhanced connections, case-based learning, and the kind of interdisciplinary experience that mirrors professional practice.

Most classes will take place in the heart of City Campus in Northumberland Building (zone 16 on the Campus map). You'll also encounter sessions in other areas with specialist facilities, such as Sport Central (20), and engage with occasional training sessions on Coach Lane Campus.

Facilities on City Campus include biomechanics laboratories, a physiology lab, a gait lab, bespoke strength and conditioning suites, and a clinical teaching space for cardiopulmonary physiotherapy featuring a computerised manikin for the teaching of assessment and patient management skills.

Physiotherapy Clinic

In the heart of Campus is the developing Physiotherapy Clinic - equipped with 1,2 and 4 bed treatment rooms, a rehabilitation gym, AlterG (anti-gravitational treadmill), a rehabilitation research hub, a clinical hub, and dedicated assessment areas and reception.

Coach Lane Campus and City Campus students often share the same city-centre accommodation so, by moving Physiotherapy to City Campus, you'll now be even closer to your learning spaces.

Nevertheless, if you have any queries about accommodation, please contact us and our team will be happy to help.

Most university-based teaching and clinical skills sessions will take place at City Campus. A small number of sessions in semester one will continue at Coach Lane Campus, including some mandatory training and collaborative sessions with other health profession students. Travel between campuses is free on the Number 1 bus with your students smart card.

Clinical placements continue across NHS, private, sport and charitable settings in the region.
