Each month, we will be compiling a selection of events for you here, so that you can keep track of things happening both on and off campus. From events in student accommodation and society socials to Northumbria University Sport fixtures and pop-up events on campus, we've got you covered!

Wellbeing Walks - 10th July

Come and join the Wellbeing team Wednesday mornings from 10am to 11am in a stroll through Exhibition park. Fresh air and gentle exercise is great for maintaining mental health and mindulness and especially when the weather is getting better (Hopefully!) over summer.  Please meet us at the welcome desk in the students union city campus to set off at 10am.

Star and Shadow Film Quiz - 11th July

It's July's Star & Shadow's Film Quiz! The only all film (and sometimes TV) trivia quiz night in town, we are a cinema after all! Entry is £2 per head paid on the night. Maximum 6 per team          Contact to book your place!

Jaws But Gay Cabaret - 12th July

Calling all Beach Boys, Sea Guurls and fisherthems! Mama Rhi and Mack are back for a Big Queer Under the seashow at Alphabetti we bring you ‘Jaws (but Gay) Cabaret’. You can expect Sequinned sea creatures, Sexy sailors, and Magnificent merfolk performing a variety of acts which range from drag, burlesque to spoken word and lip sync. Our boat does not exclude LGBTQIA+ Allies but welcomes them to join their queer friends. Splish Splash our cabarets back!

Latrine's House of Fun - 13th July

Latrines Haus of Fun, The Fundraiser Edition! Join latrine and their friends for a great big pageant edition, the pageant of a pageant for a pageant within a pageant, pageant.

Come along & get involved. All ticket proceeds go to Charlie and Carter Foundation and Pride Action North.

The Ouseburn Market - 14th July

The Ouseburn Market happens every second weekend of the month between April to July. Explore the vibrant atmosphere of the Ouseburn Market, now back in Newcastle for the spring season. Nestled in the heart of the Ouseburn Valley, this market embodies a thriving community of artists, creators, and unique vendors.

With 80 stalls spread across two days, the Ouseburn Market promises families an enchanting outing in one of the North East's most charming locales. Browse through an array of locally crafted treasures, including art, ceramics, prints, fashion, candles, and home decor.

Chambers of Laughs - 15th July

Championing queer comedy, criticising queer politics. Join some of the best North East’s LGBTQIA+ comedians as they take over the civic chambers, to put queer voices at the centre of political debate in a humorous post General Election satire.

Northern Pride Festival - 19th to 21st July

Under the theme “unapologetically visible” the aim now is to bring over 80,000 people to Newcastle during the Pride weekend, by bringing all the festival favourites right into the heart of the city.

SU Pride Breakfast - 20th July

This is a safe space to get ready and meet other LGBTQ* students, staff, and allies. You are welcome to bring friends and family, but we kindly ask that everyone books a space using the link below. We'll be setting off just before midday to join the main parade at the Civic Centre.

Bend & Shake - 20th July

Bend&Shake is a multi-genre queer party run by women and non-binary people of the Global Majority. EVERYONE is welcome, but this event aims to provide a safer space for women, non-binary people, trans people, asylum seekers and QIPOC.

We’re back with our third Pride Party. With the absence of what we feel is an inclusive pride party in the North East (authentically organised and hosted by marginalised communities with intersectionality), we're continuing to host Bend&Shake parties.

Bin Juice - 20th July

Prepare yourself for a mega Pride serving of Bin Juice with a full line up of kings, queens, queer local heroes, heroines, they-roes & they-roines. A great sauce of wholesome queer fun. Expect top-notch DJ’s for dancing, ultimate moments, maximum efforts, love n care, all queers, friends & allies welcome. Get in the bin.
