Growth in small-town economies workshops

EPIC is collaborating with a team of three researchers from North Wales to carry out new research into the meaning of “growth” in rural small-town economies. Sophie Bennett-Gillison, Lyndon Murphy (Aberystwyth University) and Eifiona Thomas-Lane (Bangor University) will be interviewing businesses and local community representatives in Haltwhistle and Rothbury during the week of 13-18th April. This work will build on an earlier study of Llangefni and Llanidloes which is published here.

Gary Bosworth is helping to convene two workshops, one in Rothbury on Monday 13th April, 5-7pm, and one in Haltwhistle the next evening. Anyone who would like to participate in the workshop or take part in an interview with the team is invited to contact Gary at gary.bosworth@northumbria.ac.uk

Michael Price is collaborating on a specific project relating to rural social enterprises as part of the developing collaboration too so if you run a social enterprise in either town, please contact him at Michael.j.price@northumbria.ac.uk
