I’ve always been passionate about law and its real-world impact. During my LLM at Northumbria, I gained hands-on experience through the Student Law Office and Citizens Advice. Now, I’m a Trainee Solicitor at Atom Bank.

I’m a Trainee Solicitor at Atom Bank.

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study here?

Northumbria’s practical approach, particularly the opportunity to work on real cases in the Student Law Office, and its strong industry connections made it the ideal choice for me.

What was it like studying at Northumbria?

It was a fantastic experience. The practical exposure and the supportive faculty really helped me prepare for a career in law. 

How connected was your course with industry?

The course had strong industry ties, offering real-world experience through casework and insights from legal professionals. 

What was the best thing about your course?:

The hands-on experience at the Student Law Office. Working with real clients gave me the practical skills that I now use daily. 

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals / give your career an edge?

The practical experience gave me a significant edge in job applications and interviews, directly leading to my role at Atom Bank. 

Which skills/knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now/throughout your career?

Legal research, client interaction, and document drafting – all of which I developed during my studies at Northumbria. 

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

The practical learning and the strong sense of community within the law school. 

What advice would you give somebody who is thinking of studying at Northumbria?

Choose Northumbria if you want to blend theory with practical experience that will set you apart in the job market. 

How would you describe your time at Northumbria in three words?

Practical. Supportive. Impactful.
