We are delighted to invite you to attend the opening of the Advanced Thin Film Sputtering Fabrication Facility (TF-FAB) at Northumbria University on Wednesday 21st January 2026.

The Advanced Thin Film Sputtering Fabrication Facility (TF-FAB) is a state-of-the-art facility, funded by EPSRC at Northumbria University, for the fabrication of functional nano and micro-coatings for energy conversion and storage, sensing and biomedical devices. 

The event will include:

  • 11am - Welcome, TF-FAB presentation and official opening by Prof Louise Bracken Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange of Northumbria University
  • 11.30am - Tour of TF-FAB, thin film laboratory and Northumbria Materials Characterisation Laboratory
  • 1pm - Lunch
  • 2pm - Opportunities for collaboration

We hope you will be able to join us for this exciting occasion. If you are unable to attend, please feel free to nominate a colleague to attend in your place.
