Alongside a series of Leverhulme lectures, Professor Wang will also deliver a number of seminar sessions at Northumbria. All sessions are open to law staff, students and the wider academic community and can be attended in person or online. Professor Wang’s visit has been made possible thanks to funding from the Leverhulme Trust. The lectures at Northumbria are scheduled for the 12th, 19th and 26th June and will cover topics including evaluating the testimony of expert witnesses, the e-justice revolution in China and new approaches to comparative Chinese law studies. A fourth and final lecture at Nottingham University relates to the future of the law of evidence.

Professor Wang is currently Tallahassee Alumni Professor at Florida State University College of Law. His research interests include evidential issues, law and technology and comparative Chinese law studies. He has co-authored a book titled “Proof in Modern Litigation: Evidence Law & Forensic Science Perspectives” (Barr Smith Press 2017), and published numerous articles in U.S., Chinese, and international legal journals, including the UC Irvine Law Review and the International Journal of Evidence & Proof.
Dr Rebecca Mitchell, who successfully applied for funding from the Leverhulme Trust said: “We are delighted to welcome Leverhulme Visiting Professor Henry Zhuhao Wang to the Law School at Northumbria, and grateful to the Leverhulme Trust for their funding support. The lectures will provide some fascinating insight from a globally-respected visiting professor, and I would encourage anyone with an interest in law to attend. Our law students in particular will find these sessions of great value to their learning experience and knowledge.”
For more information on the lecture series please visit the NCECJS website. For any further information about the lecture and seminar series, including regarding attendance, please contact Rebecca Mitchell rebecca.mitchell@northumbria.ac.uk
