Charlotte Emmett

Charlotte is an Associate Professor and Director of Learning and Teaching at Northumbria Law School. She joined Northumbria University after practising as a solicitor in London, Greece and Australia during the 1990s. In 1997 she left private practice to study a PGCE(HE) in law at the University of Wales, Cardiff before joining the Law School as a senior law lecturer. Charlotte has a specialist interest in mental health and mental capacity law and has taught and researched in this area for many years. Charlotte is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an LLM external examiner in mental health law at the London School of Economics.
