Karen Johns


Department: Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation

Karen is an experienced teaching practitioner, having worked in Higher Education for the last five years as a Programme Leader and Lecturer for Sport Coaching and Sport Development degree programmes. Karen accumulated over 12 years vocational experience in sport coaching, sport development, facility management and research/contract consultancy work, before returning to education. Karen has worked for some prominent industry organisations such as Sports Coach UK, England Athletics and two North East County Sport Partnerships. Karen currently teaches on the Sport Development and Sport Coaching UG degree programmes.
