Dr Robin Pesch

Professor

Department: Newcastle Business School

Robin is a Professor in International Business. His research interests include workplace integration of migrants and refugees, global alliance management, and strategic decision-making under deep uncertainty. His research received several international awards. He attracted prestigious research funds in Canada, China, and Germany for his research projects on grand challenges. Robin is a member of the GLOBE 2020 research project. Before joining Northumbria University, he held academic positions at Newcastle University and the University of Bayreuth in Germany. He was also invited as a Visiting Lecturer at Zeppelin University in Germany.

Robin has a high passion for teaching. His teaching covers International Business, Strategy & Organisation, Innovation Management, and empirical research methods. He received an award for outstanding teaching from the Faculty of Law and Economics (University of Bayreuth) for an undergraduate module in 2017. Moreover, he was nominated for a Best Teaching Award at Newcastle University. This nomination acknowledges his innovative efforts in developing and producing animated learning videos helping students to write their dissertations. 

Close collaboration with practitioners and knowledge transfer is an integral part of his work. On the fundament of his research, he trained and consulted policymakers and managers in MNEs, small and medium-sized companies, and non-profit organizations in Canada, China, Germany, and the UK. Moreover, his work is regularly featured in media, such as newspapers and radio.
