Guidance for Students

The University has a number of policies for assessment. The Northumbria Student Portal provides guidance for current students on these policies, including relevant procedures and forms.

Current students can access the Student Portal and search for information and guidance on a range of topics including:

  • Assessment regulations and policies
  • Summary information for students including how the University sets assessments, how the University marks with fairness and how to act on your module assignment feedback
  • Managing assessments in emergency scenarios
  • Assessment feedback and the University's Anonymous Marking Policy
  • Examinations and conduct in learning environments
  • Late submission of work and extension requests
  • Personal Extenuating Circumstances (PECs)
  • Student appeals and complaints
  • Academic misconduct
  • Disability and unforeseen medical circumstances
  • Assessment Regulations for Taught Awards (ARTA)
  • English Language Policy and guidance
  • Student Change of Circumstance Policy (ChoCs)
  • Apprenticeship Framework Policy

If you are a current student but do not have access at present to the Student Portal, please view the Assessment Regulations and Policies web page.
