Santander, through Santander Universities, works to encourage the international exchange, to facilitate access to university, to promote specialist research and education through scholarships and grants.
What are Santander mobility grants?
The mobility grants are awards up to the value of £1,000 for staff and students. They aim to encourage collaborations with institutions in the Santander Universities Network.
Grants are used to pay for travel and accommodation of inbound or outbound visits.
Which universities can I visit?
The grant covers research collaboration with universities that are part of the Santander Universities network only. Here is a list of current Northumbria partners that are on that list:

What costs can this grant cover? The grant is to cover travel or subsistence for the traveller. There is no length requirement and the additional costs must be covered by personal funding. The agreement with Santander only allows £1,000 per participant.
What are the requirements?
Applications are open to all staff and students from Northumbria University.
Applicants should demonstrate how the visit will benefit their research/education and in turn how this will benefit others at Northumbria and the partner university. Applicants should also highlight how they will further strengthen and support the development of a strong partnership in the country of destination.
Recipients will be required to submit a short impact report within four weeks of their return and be part of the Northumbria University international research network.
