Design

This session will provide an overview of how strategic research is applied to a live project with industry as it illustrates some of the key evolutionary steps of development of research and design work conducted by MA Design teams. This is a rich and compelling case study which should enable viewers to appreciate the ethos of the course and some of the design thinking and practice methods and tools which are empower our students.

An uplifting story of how a community engaged a county... by building a Dhow that was 10 metres long and weighed about 7 tonnes and sailed it 500km along the East African Coast from Kenya to Sanzibar. This is a story about community and how they helped change the perception of waste plastic in Kenya. How they inspired people and presidents and helped turn the tide on plastic!
