2026-27 PGT International Scholarships

The Northumbria International Scholarship awards Postgraduate Taught (PGT) students joining in September 2026 or January 2027 with a £3,000 tuition fee discount on most Full-Time programmes (exclusions apply*) studied at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus.

Terms and Conditions

To be eligible for the Northumbria International Scholarship, you must:

  • Be an International student with ‘Overseas’ fee status
  • Be domiciled in Malaysia, USA, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, South Korea, Singapore, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Lebanon, Morocco, Egypt, Kenya, Brunei, Philippines, Bahrain, Turkey, Ghana, Jordan, Laos, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates
  • Be a self-funded student (not in receipt of any sponsorship)
  • Be accepted and enrolled on a Full-Time Postgraduate Taught course at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus, starting in September 2026 or January 2027
  • Meet all individual course requirements

*Exempt Courses

  • Any Advanced Practice or Study Abroad Masters course
  • (Pre-Registration) Physiotherapy MSc
  • (Pre-Registration) Occupational Therapy MSc
  • (Pre-Registration) Nursing Science Registered Nurse (Adult) MSc
  • (Pre-Registration) Nursing Science Registered Nurse (Mental Health) MSc
  • (Pre-Registraton) Midwifery Studies MSc
  • Social Work MA
  • Bar, Bar LLM, LLM Professional Legal Practice (SQE1)

Important Information

  • The International Scholarship is applied automatically as a fee discount, so you do not need to make a separate application
  • Students on an Advanced Practice or Study Abroad Masters who transfer to the non-Advanced Practice or non-study Abroad route more than four weeks after the start of their course, will not be eligible for the International Scholarship
  • This scholarship is for new students only.  If you are a graduate of Northumbria University, you may be eligible for the Alumni Discount; please refer to the Alumni Discount page
  • Sponsored students are not eligible for the International Scholarship
  • Students who are progressing from a partner institute where reduced fees and bespoke offers have been agreed, are not eligible for the International Scholarship
  • Students studying on an Integrated Masters course are not eligible for the International Scholarship in their final year
  • The International Scholarship is awarded as a fee discount and is not a cash sum
  • If you defer your place, the scholarship offer will be withdrawn
  • The University's decision is final and cannot be challenged; there is no right of appeal
