Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I found the course interesting.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I like the place. I like going out to river side and enjoy studying here.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

The architecture and culture is inspiring. Life is not that fast as in other cities which surprised me and that is also impressing as it gives you relaxed state of mind to both study and enjoy.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yeah, it was welcoming. At first I had difficulty in adjusting to new culture and especially the weather but slowly I found it easy to get along.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

I enjoyed studying at library and having company of friends at student union.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

Faculty office, Program leader, and Teachers.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

My teacher of English and Microbes and disease module.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Library

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

I am planning to join volunteer project this month.

What is the best thing about your course?

Laboratory work and research.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Microbial diversity and its relation to life.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

PhD in virology. Academic writing and research skills would help a lot.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

I would say show full interest in the course, do assignments on time and study using all of the guidelines. Try to get accommodation near to university.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

Confidence has improved in some aspects, though I feel worried about lectures, and doing assignments all the time.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Northumbria changes you positively.
