Where are you from?

Teesside

Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

Because of it's excellent reputation, both the course and the University.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Newcastle is a fantastic place full of interesting bars, cafes and galleries. Its an extremely welcoming place and everyone is very friendly.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

Being on an Art and Design related course, and having the Baltic Center for Contemporary Art on the doorstep is ideal.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Definitely, my course organised a treasure hunt around the university campus in groups to familiarise ourselves with the buildings and make new friends.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Making life long friends and gaining a sense of achievement and direction in my life.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My programme leader has been extremely supportive and inspirational to everyone on the course.

What is the best thing about your course?

It has great links to local schools and galleries, allowing us to gain a vast insight into future careers.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

This year has been extremely hard work, being a trainee teacher isn't easy, but Northumbria has supported me through the duration of this course which has led to a job offer of a full time art teacher in a fantastic school.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I have worked in two placement schools this year. Both set up via the University. The links with schools are second to none and provide trainees with the best possible experience and the chance to practice our own specialisms within school environments.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Go for it. You wont regret your experience at Northumbria Uni.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Fun, Friendly, Hard work

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Yes
