Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?
Loved the sound of the course as it allowed me more time to figure out which career with children I want to pursue and I love the city! The University is also really organised and welcoming.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
I love Newcastle! The shopping, the night life and the restaurants are all great. Plus, I love how you can be in such a great city and still have easy access to the beach and the coast.
What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?
How close you are to the ocean and the transport links are brilliant!
Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
Yes, very! And it took a while to fit in but I've made some great friends and I'm now looking forward to living with them next year.
What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?
The course and getting to know my lecturers because when people say that university is so scary and you don't get the same help as you do at school, it makes you worried but my lecturers are so down to earth which makes the course so much more relaxed, enjoyable and fun.
Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?
My guidance tutor.
Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?
The friends I've made - they've inspired me to forget things in the past and enjoy the present.
What is your favourite place on campus?
The Students' Union (Costa) - Coach Lane.
Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?
No, because I haven't had the time as I have a part-time job and live at home.
What is the best thing about your course?
My lecturers.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
To not have any regrets and to live life to the full.
What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?
I think I want to venture into Human Rights and I have learnt that there is always more than one side/view to a situation which helps to look at things from more than just your own perspective.
If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?
That it's a fantastic university and they will help you with any and every problem you have.
How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?
I have grown in confidence and I've learnt to have more of a voice.

Happiness, confidence and indepenance.
