Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I wanted to move to a city with a good student life.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Newcastle is a great city to do a wide variety of things! Whether it to be watching the football, to a night out, to fish and chips at Whitley bay. There's something for everyone.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

Everyone in Newcastle is very friendly, coming from a small town a city can seem daunting but everyone is lovely.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

It was very easy to fit in! Freshers Week was a great opportunity to get to know both flat and course mates.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Probably the social life. It's important to both play and work hard and make the most of what will be the best three years of your life.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

Seeing what other people who have studied here have gone on to achieve.

What is your favourite place on campus?

The cafe in the Law School, cheap Starbucks - need I say more?

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

I was treasurer of the Grey Society which was brilliant. I made loads of new friends I wouldn't have known otherwise and learnt a lot of skills which are transferable to any job on the future.

What is the best thing about your course?

The people!

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Planning! Whether it's an essay, an exam or the dreaded dissertation - planning and organisation makes everything seem better.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I've been lucky enough to get a job at Deloitte, the people and writing skills as well as planning and organising events have helped me a lot!

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I managed to get work experience with a QC in Manchester! It really opened my eyes as to what a career would be like.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Definitely the right choice to make! It's a friendly university who have nothing but time for students and the teaching staff have invaluable experience to give!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I feel more confident, able to manage several tasks at once, how to live independently and manage to survive, and mostly made some best friends for life

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Fun, stressful, lucky!
