Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

It was close to my home.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Great city easy to navigate. Everything you need is on the doorstep.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

So much to do. There is a great vibe in the city and of course, the friendly Geordies.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes very. I'm a mature student and feel that other students have helped me integrate well. Surprising but it's made my university experience far more positive as a result.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Getting back into academic study. Learning the latest techniques and thinking on my chosen subject as well as access to some great resources and technology.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

David Morton and Kevin Elliot - lecturers (Built & Natural Environment)

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

David Morton and Mark Siddal outspoken in their field. A wealth of experience between them. Friendly and supportive.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Go Cafe and the 1st floor of the library.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Time management.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

Go self employed eventually. Broadened my knowledge on my chosen subject. Developed interpersonal skills and writing techniques. Learned new computer skills.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Don't fall behind. Stay focussed on why you are there. Use the resources available. Don't let group members down when working on projects. Aim high.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

Definately more confident. Able to control anxiety over deadlines as a result.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Intense, Emotional, Hilarious.

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Yes definitely!
