Where are you from?

Washington

Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

Closest university to my house and offered the course I wanted to take.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Newcastle has always been my favourite city,  full of culture and diversity.  I love doing all sorts. There are many things to do.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

I've always lived in the north east,  but I always love how nice everyone is in the region!

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes, yes, yes!  By far the best three years of my life!  Really enjoyed it,  I knew everyone was in the same boat as me when we started so I just made a lot of friends.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Volunteering, I started in second year. Don't really know why I didn't volunteer in first year! Totally enjoyed the experience, everyone is always so enthusiastic about every cause.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My friends have by far helped keep me sane in times of need.

What is your favourite place on campus?

The quad!! I love it when there are various activities going on there! Loved it when old spice and the Olympic torch were stationed there. It just makes the day so much fun!

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

Yes, I've volunteered for welcome week. It was the most fun I've ever had!  I've also volunteered for the eco save project, seriously amazingly fun raising money and awareness for endangered species and the environment!

What is the best thing about your course?

How close knit everyone is in the department and on the course. It may not seem the case from the outside but everyone's friends with everyone.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I want to do a clinical doctorate in the future. I have learnt plenty of valuable information to help me succeed.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I haven't been on placement, however I have found my own places to gain experience and have loved every second of it. Of course it is invaluable and will definitely contribute to my future.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Make friends, everyone at the university is amazing! Also volunteer at the university, it's the most fun you will ever have!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I have become a lot more extraverted. I used to be shy but I've definitely come out of my shell and find myself bursting in confidence.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Best time ever!

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Yes, most definitely.
