Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I thought it had good facilities at the Newcastle Business school and was a great city. 

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I think its a vibrant city that has lots of things to do in your spare time such as The Gate and Metro Center. 

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

How everything is in such a close area to each other and how the local people are so welcoming in the city. 

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes, everyone made you feel welcome and didn't treat you any difference because you were a student. 

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Meeting new people and broadening my experiences that Newcastle can offer. 

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My fellow students who were in the same situation as me, we knew how each other felt to be in a new place and city. 

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

Past students from my course and hearing the success they have had from there time here. 

What is your favourite place on campus?

The Newcastle Business School!

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

The Northumbria Ski Society, this was a great way to enjoy the city of Newcastle and meet new people. 

What is the best thing about your course?

The chance to experience a year in business abroad, in my third year. 

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

That you use your time effectively with assignments and reading for seminars. 

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I want to work in marketing at a company in the Media industry. My communication skills have improved and skills such as presentation skills have also improved from doing these assignemnts as part of my course. 

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Make sure you know how universities teach as it can be surprising when you come and you find out that a lot of the learning is relied upon by independent study. 

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I have become more independent with my work and living on my own.
