Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation at Northumbria is ranked 5th for research power in the UK (REF 2021).

We take sport seriously at Northumbria, offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses from Coaching and Management to Nutrition and Exercise Science. Alongside providing a state-of-the-art learning environment for students to engage with, the department’s research places it in the UK’s top 5 (REF 2021) focusing on Optimising Human Performance, Promoting and Preserving and Health and Well-being, and Informing Practice and Policy.

Studying Sport & Exercise Science at Northumbria, you will have access to some of the best facilities in the country. Our advanced amenities include labs for biomechanics, physiology, and nutrition. Northumbria also has a clinical skills centre, a strength and conditioning suite, an indoor sprint track and performance analysis facilities.
