Wellbeing and health support
As a Northumbria student we make sure that you have access to up-to-date information about personal welfare and health issues. We also ensure that you have somewhere to turn if life takes an unexpected twist and you find yourself needing advice or support with a wellbeing issue.
Our specialist advisers offer all our students free, impartial, confidential and professional advice on a range of topics including:
- Health issues – such as how to register with a local doctor and dentist
- Meningitis and other infectious diseases
- Your personal safety and wellbeing, including how to download the SafeZone app
- Insurance issues
- Getting settled at University and making friends
- Unacceptable behaviour, including bullying and harassment
- Specific support and advice for international students
- We can also help you to speak to other University services or external organisations about any issues that you are facing.
Northumbria Students also have access to the Student Health Hub, a jointly delivered service from both Northumbria University and Newcastle University, working together with NHS and community partners.
