Well hello there!Author -Bio _Sam _In Page 350

I’m Sam, a 20 year old final year student on the Business Leadership and Corporate Management course at Northumbria.

Why I chose Northumbria:

Northumbria is one of the only universities in the UK to offer a course like BLACM, where you combine full time work with full time study and get paid for it too! I’m currently working in the marketing department at the university whilst finishing my studies (hence getting into digital content creation). Add to this the fact that Northumbria is located in a city constantly voted the best student city in the UK, it was a real no brainer to choose Northumbria. Having had many a lads’ night out across multiple UK cities, I can honestly say that Newcastle is up there with the best. It’s compact, diverse, beautiful, cultural, and of course has more bars and clubs that you can shake a stick at.

Best University highlight:

The study trip to Berlin, Germany has to be without a doubt my best highlight at university. The city is a real mix of visual and cultural style, with luxury commercial and tourist districts vying for attention alongside the graffiti-splattered industrial neighbourhoods of the past. We visited some of the more famous landmarks, including the Brandenburg Gate, Holocaust Memorial and Berlin Wall, as well as in our free time exploring the underground bar and club scene that Berlin is renowned for. I met some amazingly interesting people, including locals, exchange students, Union Berlin football fanatics, and an elderly club-goer who looked like Gandalf the wizard from LOTR. It’s safe to say my course mates and I had an unforgettable experience here.

What I like about being a Digital Content Creator is:

Sharing with you all of the cool places I’ve managed to find myself in (advertently or not) over my three sweet sweet years at Northumbria. To be able to pass this on to the next generation of undergraduates…and the next….and the next etc feels really satisfying; it’s great to be able to contribute something directly from my experience of the university and the city that can inform the experience of others.

Favourite shop:

END – Smart shop with even smarter clothes.

Favourite place to eat:

Fat Hippo – Big meaty gourmet burgers. Enough said.

Favourite place for a pint:

Ozzy road, Jesmond – Perfect for a pre/post lecture cold one.

Favourite place to party:

The Cut! – Intimate little venue with something going on nearly every night of the week. The seats and tables sunk into the floor at the back are quite unique.
