Our AlumniTo model existing buildings in BIM (Building Information Modelling) software (for improvements, restorations, preservation, facilities management) information such as geometric shapes/sizes (3D laser scans/point cloud data), whereabouts of pipes/ventilation shafts and utilities, features such as door handles and smoke alarms (digital or paper-based data) have to be manually compiled from a range of documents and formats.
This software incorporates two novel algorithms for automatically compiling different formats of data (geometric and non-geometric) into BIM models, allowing BIM modelling of existing buildings to be simpler and faster. The software, written in C sharp, captures and merges non-geometrical data from multiple sources into a standard format with geometric data and displays and visualises the data inside BIM software.
