Nigeria Country Bursary

For students enrolling onto a degree programme in September 2018, students from Nigeria who do not meet the requirements for an Academic Scholarship will receive an automatic Country Bursary of £2,500 for their first year of study at Northumbria.

If you are a Northumbria alumni you will not be eligible for a Country Bursary, however you may be awarded an Academic Scholarship of £2,500 if you meet the academic criteria. Northumbria alumni may also be eligible to receive an alumni discount.

Please note there are a number of restrictions:

  • If you receive any discount on the full published overseas tuition fee (with the exception of Alumni Discount and/or Early Payment Discount) you will not be eligible for a Country Bursary.
  • You cannot be in receipt of both an Academic Scholarship AND a Country Bursary.
  • The Bursary is only available to students who are new to Northumbria. Northumbria alumni who return to take another degree programme would not be eligible for a second country bursary, however, they would qualify for the alumni discount.
