The university has a long history of accepting students from Oman on to a range of courses.

Entry Requirements and Scholarship Information

Although some courses have specific requirements for entry, Northumbria will consider any qualification for entry to its courses.

International Foundation Programme Thanawiya amma (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) 60% or above  
1st Year Undergraduate Technical Industrial College Diploma (OITC) good  
Advanced entry from Bachelors degree – entry after year 1 of Omani degree GPA 2.75, and having completed around 30 credit hours  3.4/4 or 4.2/5
Diploma (when studied between 2 and 3 years) C / 65-79%  A 90-100%
Advanced Undergraduate Advanced entry from Bachelors degree – entry after year 2 of Omani degree GPA 2.75, and having completed around 60 credit hours  3.4/4 or 4.2/5
Advanced entry from Bachelors degree – entry after year 3 of Omani degree GPA 2.75, and having completed around 90 credit hours  3.4/4 or 4.2/5
Postgraduate Programmes Bachelor Degree (4 Years) CGPA 2.75  3.4/4 or 4.2/5
Graduate Certificate Bachelor Degree (4 Years) Pass/CGPA 2.0

Actual requirements may vary depending on your chosen course of study and certain courses may have specific or additional entry requirements, full details can be found on our course directory. Decisions for entry will also be based on personal statements, previous study information and not just your final course grading.
