Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?
I chose Northumbria University because they had the course I was interested in and more so because of the course content.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
Newcastle is a very beautiful city with very friendly and hospitable people. My favourite things to do are studying, swimming and being in companion of friends.
What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?
The friendliness and hospitality of the people around me and also the cost of living in this region has really surprised me. I'm so impressed by the beauty of Newcastle city at night.
Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
Yes, Northumbria University was very welcoming. I wouldn't say it was very easy to fit in considering the standard and learning environment of where I come from but the lecturers were very helpful especially my programme leader, Rinke Vinkenoog.
What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?
The quality of teaching, laboratory facilities, library facilities and mode of delivery of lectures.

What is your favourite place on campus?
Library (4th Floor).
Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?
I joined a leadership society (Maximum Impact Student Association) and I was made the secretary.
What is the best thing about your course?
The best thing about my course is its versatility. The fact that I am not constrained to a particular field is something I like very well. I could decide to do my PhD in animal, plant, medical or industrial biotechnology.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
How to manage your time when you are under pressure.
What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?
I would love to do a PhD and become an academician because I believe strongly in the transfer of knowledge.
If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?
Northumbria is a very good place to study and it has got one of the best libraries in the UK.
How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?
Confidence has improved!
