Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

It's close to home and so easy to travel from. I have family and relatives who also came to the uni.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Great area, although its a large place to be in.  Shopping.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

I found it hard to settle in, first day was not great for me but once I made friends I settled in very easily.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Meeting the great people on my course and the tutors learning about the subject area that I am most interested in.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

Lectures and tutor within environmental health course.

What is the best thing about your course?

The lecturers - they can not do enough to help you.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Don't be shy, always ask for help when needed.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

Health and safety inspector. My confidence has built continually from going to uni and hope to build this by working.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I done some work experience through Sunderland Council with the environmental health team and I am currently trying to set up a years placement.

Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.

The course offers a range of field trips including that to Berwick and Amsterdam. They are amazing and well deserved trips that are both educational but great fun.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Do it!!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

My confidence has grown throughout the course, I was not the type to get involved within class discussions but since been apart of the university I am comfortable with doing so.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Great, hard, educational.

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Yes.
