The FdSc Nursing Associate Apprenticeship at Northumbria University provides a structured work-based route into healthcare, allowing you to earn while you learn. Designed to meet the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards, this course develops your skills in delivering safe, compassionate, and effective care across a range of healthcare settings.

Voted Apprenticeship Provider of the Year in the Student Nursing Times Awards 2024.

With a blended learning approach, including classroom sessions, digital resources, and clinical simulations, you develop confidence in applying theoretical knowledge to real-world practice. The course also emphasises teamwork, communication, and leadership, equipping you with the skills needed for career progression.

On completion, you gain a Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Nursing Associate and can apply for professional registration with the NMC, opening doors to further study or career advancement within healthcare, including through our Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship (Adult) or our Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship (Child).
