Dr Daniel Monk

Assistant Professor

Department: Nursing, Midwifery & Health

Daniel is a registered Nurse and spent the early part of his Nursing career as a Staff Nurse in A&E. He progressed to Nurse Practitioner and specialised in urgent and unplanned care in a variety of urgent care and walk in facilities in the North East. 

Daniel has a Masters in Academic and Professional Learning and is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).  He is currently studying for a Professional Doctorate in nursing focusing on Proficiency in Nurse Practitioners.

His areas of specialism include:

  • Emergency, urgent and unplanned care from a clinical, professional, patient and managerial perspective including political local and national drivers
  • Pre-hospital care
  • Post qualifying CPD as an area of specialism
