Our Alumni - Work For Us
Suzi is originally from Germany where she completed her undergraduate studies in sport engineering and then went to Finland to study in the M.Sc. programme "Biology of Physical Activity at the University of Jyväskyla. After completing her Ph.D in biomechanics at Manchester Metropolitan University, she completed her postdoctoral training in the US at David Lipps' Musculoskeletal Biomechanics and Imaging Laboratory and the University of Michigan.
Suzi's overarching research interest aims to uncover the effects of cancer treatments on skeletal muscle and the mechanistic effects of physical therapy on skeletal muscle in oncologic populations. In particular, she seeks to understand how limitations in shoulder function in breast cancer survivors and how shoulder function can be restored with non-pharmaceutical treatments. Providing new mechanistic insights into these functional limitations and their treatment can support clinical decision-making and help to develop new post-treatment rehabilitation standards-of-care.
