Are you looking for a history degree that combines the study of the past with 21-century employability? History at Northumbria University offers a historical perspective on present-day challenges and concerns, including environmental change, global connectivity, gender equality, war and conflict, and the power of media and culture.

Teaching means much more than seminars and lectures. Our History staff members make innovative use of media, including film, music and digital technology. Joint knowledge creation, place-based learning and public engagement are embedded in our History curriculum which includes group projects, work placements, excursions and student-led conferences.
