Assessment of BIM adoption and a national BIM roadmap for Mexico

This BIM strategic study is performed under the sponsorship of the ‘Mexico Prosperity Fund Programme’ and is part of the ‘Future Cities: Infrastructure and Mobility’ project.

On assignment by the Secretary of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the appointed consultants, Dr Mohamad Kassem (Northumbria University) and Dr David John Gibbs (HKA) are delivering:

  1. a detailed analysis of the BIM baseline in Mexico through consultation and workshops in several ministries and public authorities
  2. a benchmark of the BIM maturity (including BIM standards) of Mexico against eight countries including the United Kingdom
  3. an analysis of the implementation of BIM in Mexico’s large public and private infrastructure projects, and
  4. a national BIM strategy for Mexico in consultation with the Mexican Federal Government, the UK BIM Task Group, the British Standard institution (BSi), and the industry.
