The Northumbria University I WANT Wish List could help kick start your new life at university. Using Twitter, Instagram or Vine we would love to know what you’d have on your ultimate university wish list using the #IWANTNU.

When you start university you will have an endless wish list, from text books to gig tickets and new duvets to gym memberships. At Northumbria University we want to help kick start your new life when you join our university, so we want to build the ideal ‘I want wish list’ with a bit of help from you.

Using Twitter, Instagram or Vine we would love to know what you’d have on your ultimate university wish list using the #IWANTNU. Your dream wish list items will help us create the ultimate wish list which you could win prizes from when you enrol at Northumbria in 2016*.

Your ‘I Want Wish List’ can include anything from

  • An iPad
  • Surf Lessons
  • Text Books
  • Gig Tickets
  • Gym Membership
  • A Duvet

The possibilities are limitless …. as long as your ‘I Want Wish List’ items don’t exceed £2,000 – so no BMWs please!

RULES

You must use the #IWANTNU in your social post.

You must suggest an item for the wish list.

Please note, any entry/images containing inappropriate or offensive material will not be accepted into the competition.

If your entry/image contains anyone other than yourself you must have permission to enter the image into the competition on the social platform and the responsibility lies with you.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

All enquirers who provide their details through the Northumbria website, at the Northumbria stand at UCAS Conventions and the Course Enquiry Centre will be made aware of the wish list competition.

Stage 1 (4 March through to 30 November 2015)

Enquirers do not have to apply for a place at Northumbria University in order to participate in Stage 1 as this is purely to increase social media activity. Spot prizes are available to win by all enquirers entering stage 1 competition.

Spot Prizes are amazon vouchers to the value of £25. All spot prize winners are computer generated.

Posts valid to win spot prizes and for potential inclusion in stage 2 must be posted onto the specified social platforms from 1 March to 30 November. The last date we will consider suggestions for the wish list is midnight on 30th November 2015 and no further entries will be permitted after that date.

Only social posts including the #IWANTNU will be considered for stage 2.

Enquirers can enter a wish as many times as they like, by posting social media posts across all of the specified social platforms between the given dates.

Social platforms that enquirers are able to use to enter a potential wish into stage 2 are Vine, Twitter and Instagram. Whilst you can use other platforms to post social comments to your followers about the wish list these will not be considered for stage 2.

Northumbria staff will consider wishes entered via the specified social media platforms from social posts that conform to the terms and conditions, and will select suitable items to be put to a vote in stage 2 alongside items the University will provide for the wish list.

Only items posted by Northumbria University Undergraduate Applicants will be considered for the stage 2 competition. Applicants who have entered will be notified of the next stages by e-mail communication. Stage 2 of the competition will start November 2015.

Please note: just because you enter a wish does not mean it will feature in stage 2 or 3 competitions.

Stage 2 (1 December 2015 – 30 June 2016)

Stage 2 will be available to applicants to Northumbria University Undergraduate Courses only. Applicants do not need to have participated in stage 1 competition to take part in stage 2 competition. Applicants will be invited to help define the wish list through a series of votes with spot prize given out during this voting stage. These spot prizes will not be the prizes people are voting for but smaller value incentive prizes.

Spot Prizes are amazon vouchers to the value of £25. All spot prize winners are computer generated.

Votes will be cast through the University website. Students will be notified of how to cast votes prior to the start of Stage 2. Full terms and conditions regarding Stage 2 will be available before November 2015.

The University reserves the right to replace final wishlist items for prizes of an equal value.

Winners of the spot prizes will be contacted directly to inform them of their spot prize win and to confirm address for prize to be delivered. If you win a spot prize in the voting competition, we will notify you by, email, or social media, within 72 working hours of the closing date. If you do not respond within 48 hours of being notified, you will forfeit your prize and Northumbria University reserves the right to choose another winner. The judges’ decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Stage 3 – 1 July 2016 –1 September 2016

Stage 3 will only be open to students who have accepted a place at Northumbria University.

In order to be eligible to win prizes up to the value of £2,000 from the final wish list, applicants must accept a place and enrol at Northumbria University as well as complete a short entry form to confirm their interest in winning prizes from the final wish list. The closing date is noon on the 1st September 2016 and will be confirmed on the entry form and web page.

There will be 3 winners who will individually be able to choose prize items from the wish list up to the combined the value of £2,000 per winner. Winners can select as many items as they would like as long as the value does not exceed £2,000. Individual winners can choose items from the list that another winner has also chosen. The items on the final list will be made up of the successful items voted onto the list in the stage 2 competition and a selection of bonus items added by the University.

The 3 winners of the final wish list prizes must conform to all terms and conditions and will be chosen at random.  All prize winners will be computer generated.

Winners will be contacted directly to inform them of their win and to confirm personal details. If you win prizes from the final wish list, we will notify you by phone, email and letter, within 72 working hours of the closing date. If you do not respond within 2 weeks of being notified, you will forfeit your prize and Northumbria University reserves the right to choose another winner. The judges’ decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

The wish list prizes will be available to collect or for delivery in November 2016.

General

All specific deadlines and details of how to enter will be posted on the wish list web page throughout which you can access via www.northumbria.ac.uk/wishlist

By entering this competition, an enquirer/applicant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

Any enquirer/applicant who posts a social media post that contains any negative or offensive imagery or wording will automatically be removed from the competition and not eligible to win or make any further posts.

Northumbria University have the final say in who is eligible to enter and who wins. Northumbria University’s decision is final.

Stages 1, 2 and 3 of the competition are not open to current Northumbria University employees or their family members or others connected in any way to the setting up of the competition.

Current Northumbria University students are welcome to enter stage 1 of the competition and win the spot prizes, but stages 2 and 3 of the competition are not open to current students of Northumbria University.

Entrants must be 16 years or over.

Prizes are specified above for stages 1, 2 and 3 of the competition and full details will be posted on line before the commencement of each competition stage (Stage 1- 4th March 2015, Stage 2 – 1st November 2015, Stage 3 – 1st July 2016)

Northumbria University is not responsible for any inaccurate details provided by the enquirer/applicant.

Posting your uploads to the social media platforms is not proof that we have seen your entry. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are missed, or which are not seen for any reason when Northumbria University staff are monitoring the social media hashtags to be used in the competition.

By entering the competition and using the #IWANTNU you are giving Northumbria University permission to use your post, including video and image content, and social media username, in any marketing or press material, social media platforms and on our website.

You can find out who has won a particular competition by checking the Northumbria University website wish list page where winners will be updated after they have been notified and confirmed.

The prize will not be transferable to another person.

No part of a prize is exchangeable for cash or any other prize.

If an advertised prize is not available, we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.

Incorrectly completed entries will be disqualified.

This competition is being run by University of Northumbria at Newcastle whose principal office is at Ellison Building, Ellison Place, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8ST.

Northumbria University reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. Northumbria University may also create rules which will apply to a specific competition only. If we do this we will publish the amended competition rules and/or specific competition rules on the relevant competition page.

If the competition or promotion is run on Facebook Twitter, Vine, Instagram, Google+, or other social media platforms, then it is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with these social media platforms. By participating you hereby release and hold harmless these social media platforms from any and all liability associated with this promotion.

Northumbria University will endeavour to send prizes within a month of the competition end date but cannot guarantee this delivery time.

This competition and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales and the jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.Event based competitions connected to the NU wish list will have additional Terms and Conditions.
