Full-time Undergraduate Scholarships for EU Students in 2018/19

Northumbria University is committed to supporting EU students with outstanding academic ability.  Scholarships available for students joining an undergraduate programme in academic year 2018/19 are outlined below.

EU Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarships

The University will offer scholarships of £2,000 to students from EU member states who meet specific academic criteria and successfully enrol on a full-time undergraduate programme.  Please note that scholarships are only available to students who are ordinarily resident in an EU member state outside the UK.  EU citizens who are already living in the UK cannot benefit from this scheme. 

Scholarships will be paid to students in three instalments,  25% in November 2018, 25% in February 2019 and 50% in May 2019.  There is no need to submit a separate application for this scholarship.  All EU students who successfully enrol at the University will be automatically assessed and scholarships awarded to those who meet the academic criteria shown below.

Belgium Abschlusszeugnis der Oberstufe des Sekundarunterrichts; Certificat d’Enseignement Secondaire Supérieur; Getuignschrift van Hoger Secundair Onderwijs; or Abschlusszeugnis der Oberstufe Sekundarunterrichts with an overall grade of 8/10 or 17/20
Bulgaria Diplomaza Sredno Obrazonvaine (Diploma of Secondary Education) with an overall score of 5.6
Croatia Svjedodžba o Maturi with an overall grade of 4.0
Cyprus (EU) Apolytirion  with an overall grade of 19 
Czech Republic Maturita/Maturitni Zkouška Vysvedcení/Maturitní Zkoušcewith an overall grade of 1.5
Denmark Studentereksamen (or equivalent) or Højere Forberedelseseksamen with an overvall grade of 10
Estonia

Gümnaasiumi lõputunnistus (Secondary School Certificate) with overall grade of 4.5 with 75% average in Riigieksamid (State Examinations)

Finland Ylioppilastutkinoto/Studentexamen with an overall grade of Eximia cum laude approbatur (6)

  • Baccalauréat Général or Baccalauréat Technologique with an overall grade of 14
  • Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB) with an overall grade of 12
Germany Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife (Abitur) overall grade of 1.5
Gibraltar 144 UCAS tariff points
Greece Apolytirion with an overall score of 19 
Hungary Érettségi (High School Leaving Certificate) with an overall grade of 4
Ireland 144 UCAS tariff points
Italy Diploma di Esame di Stato with an overall grade of 85/100 
Latvia Atestāts par vispārējo vidējo izglītību (Certificate of General Secondary Education) with an overall grade of 9.0

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) with overall score of 35
  • UK A-Levels with UCAS tarrif of 144 points

I am Northumbria Global Scholarship 

The University will be awarding scholarships of up to £9250 to EU undergraduate students joining the University in September 2018.  All you need to do is produce a 30 second video which will be shared via the University’s social media channels.  Only students who hold an offer for an Undergraduate programme starting in September 2018 will be able to compete for these high value scholarships.*  Please submit an application through UCAS to ensure you are eligible for this scheme. 

*Students who are successfully awarded the I Am Northumbria Global Scholarship will become ineligible for the EU Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship.
