NORTHUMBRIA POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

 

£2,000 cash award for UK/Home Masters students.

We’re thrilled to announce the Northumbria Postgraduate Scholarship. A unique opportunity for you to join us on a Full-Time Masters in September 2024, with a £2,000 cash award to help you with your studies.

Current and former students of Northumbria University are welcome to apply for this scholarship. However, please note that you are automatically eligible for up to £2,350 off the course fees on your 1-year Masters via our Alumni Discount programme. Please note that the 20% Alumni Discount is not available in conjunction with any other discount or scholarship unless stated otherwise and does not require an application.

FAQ

To be eligible for the Northumbria Postgraduate Scholarship you must:

  • Be a UK/Home student with 'Home' fee status
  • Have applied for an eligible one year Full-Time Masters course at Newcastle City Campus or Coach Lane Campus in September 2024
  • Be a self-funded student
  • Not have fees which are paid in full or in part through a sponsorship arrangement, i.e. employer funded
    • Students selected for a Northumbria Postgraduate Scholarship for September 2024 will no longer be eligible for any other Postgraduate awards. This includes Alumni Discount.
    • Sponsored students are not eligible for the Northumbria Postgraduate Scholarship
    • Students are still able to apply, and may be eligible for the Government Loan and other sources of finance to support PGT study. For more details visit www.northumbria.ac.uk/pgfinance
    • The Northumbria Postgraduate Scholarship is awarded as a cash sum
    • Successful students will receive £2,000 on one year Full-Time eligible courses studied at the Newcastle City Campus and Coach Lane Campus
    • The scholarship will be paid as 25% in November 2024, 25% in February 2025 and 50% in May 2025
    • If you transfer to a Part-Time programme, the scholarship offer will be withdrawn
    • If you transfer to a course that is not on the eligibility list, the scholarship offer will be withdrawn
    • If you defer your place, the scholarship offer will be withdrawn
    • Northumbria University reserves the right to withdraw this scheme at any point
    • The University’s decision is final and cannot be challenged; there is no right of appeal

    • There is a competitive selection process for this scholarship scheme. Applicants need to apply via online written application; a selection panel will then consider all eligible applications.
    • Applications will be considered on the strength of response to, in no more than 500 words (3000 characters) - How will this scholarship support your aspirations to succeed in your Masters degree?
    • If you are currently studying for your degree, you do not need to wait for your final classification before applying
    • If successful, the award of the scholarship will be made conditional upon you achieving the required degree classification before commencement of the course.
    • Successful applicants will be notified once the evaluation panel has met, no later than 02 August 2024
