Our Alumni - Work For Us
I am currently a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Sciences at Northumbria University. Prior to this I have extensive experience in higher education, including completing a full time PhD studentship at Teesside University. I previously worked as a Research Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University and as a Senior Sport and Exercise Technician at Teesside University for a combined nine years. I have extensive and valuable experiences in the sports science industry within both academic and applied settings.
My main areas of interest are facilitating the training process in team sports, such as football and rugby. Specifically, I am interested in the application of practical high intensity intermittent training interventions that can be used to improve physiology and performance metrics in a time-efficient methods. I am also interested in the prescription and subsequent monitoring of team sport training in practice, focusing on the agreement between coaches and athletes data for both internal and external training load measures.
